New Orleans Flood Map helps residents gauge water levels

A Google Maps powered Flood Map has been established to provide information about approximate flood levels in the city of New Orleans. It should be noted that the information presented is not absolute and could be incorrect at some locations. Regardless, it's a great resource. Here are instructions for use and details on how the data is collected which can be found from the mashup's website: "Click upon your area of interest and a marker will appear showing the estimated water depth at that location. If this value reflects "0.0 ft" no standing water should be expected. A value of "4.5 ft" means that approximately 4.5 feet of standing water should be expected. "No Data Available" reflects the absence of information at that location."
