As thousands of Americans generously offer cash and other donations to the victims of Hurricane Katrina, the IRS urges people to make contributions to reputable and qualified charities. Tax Relief and Other Assistance for Hurricane Victims

The IRS issued special tax relief for taxpayers residing in the Presidential Disaster Areas struck by Katrina. This relief provides victims additional time to submit estimated tax payments. The IRS is providing other assistance as well.
