After Katrina, a Web Site Catalogs the Missing (Wired Campus Blog)
The National Institute for Urban Search and Rescue is taking on the yeoman's task of consolidating information on victims of Hurricane Katrina who have not yet been accounted for, and putting that data online for family members and emergency-response teams. The institute's Missing Persons Center is accepting submissions about people who have not been located and collecting data from a number of other sites, including CNN's Safe List and forums at NOLA.com.
Magazine Street, Uptown New Orleans. This part of town had hurricane wind damaged, but escaped the Federal Flood that deluged the majority of the city.
It doesn't really look too stormy here but the wind was blowing and the rain was falling. The water coming down the waterfall was occasionally pushed upwards when a very strong gust of wind would hit the cliffs.
This shipping container was placed in the South Louisiana Marsh by a horrible storm named Katrina #Weather #HurricaneKatrina #Hurricane #ShippingContainer #Louisiana #LouisianaWeather #Clouds
